A. Khachaturian Gayane – Three Pieces

The soundscapes of the Orient offer a refreshing addition to the global classical music repertoire. Aram Khachaturian’s music from the ballet Gayane has captivated audiences for decades, while the works of his contemporary, Azerbaijani composer Kara Karayev are rarities today. The present-day history of Turkey is reflected in Fazil Say’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, performed by the young and charismatic cellist Camille Thomas, with Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits leading the orchestra.
